Basic Qualitative Analysis Workshop and Thematic Analysis Forum

This one-day qualitative workshop is an initiative of the Department of Family Medicine (DoFM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical centre (UKMMC) to share knowledge and experience in conducting qualitative research. The organisation of the workshop was collaboration between the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry and was held on 6th September 2016 at Level 4, Education Block, Faculty of Medicine, UKMMC.

 

The workshop was conducted by a team of lecturers, led by Professor Dr (PhD) Tong Seng Fah (DoFM, UKMMC). Other speakers/facilitators were Dr (PhD) Noorlaili Tauhid (DoFM, UKMMC) and Associate Professor Dr (PhD) Noor Azimah Muhammad (DoFM, UKMMC). Associate Professor Dr Cheong Ai Theng (DoFM, UPM) and Dr Hizlinda Tohid (DoFM, UKMMC) were also involved as facilitators.

 

The response was very encouraging whereby more than 50 people from UKMMC and UKM Bangi main campus participated in this workshop. It is hoped that this qualitative workshop could lead to more similar events in the future that will continue to attract researchers from inside and outside UKM.
