HCTM Nursery Sports Day 2026 Enlivens Children’s Activities

The  Children’s Nursery (TASKA) Sports Day 2026 at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was held on August 22, 2026. The event was filled with joy and lively energy, featuring the participation of 66 nursery children, alongside teachers and parents who joined in various sporting and recreational activities.

 The opening ceremony took place at the Main Lobby Foyer of the Pre-clinical Building, Faculty of Medicine, and was officially launched by Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM. This annual event serves as a platform to encourage healthy lifestyles while supporting the physical, mental, and social development of young children.

During his opening address, Dato’ Dr. Azmi expressed his gratitude to the HCTM nursery staff, the organizing committee, educators, and parents for their commitment and cooperation in making the event a success. He noted that the sports day not only brings excitement to the children’s routine but also strengthens the bond between the nursery and families.

Active parental involvement plays a crucial role in building children’s confidence to try new things, he added. The sports day is viewed as an essential early childhood learning experience, using movement and team games to enhance motor coordination, boost self-esteem, and foster sportsmanship.

 Children and families took part in a variety of engaging games, including matching socks and dressing children, shape-matching puzzles, ball-in-basket challenges, a “gold bar” treasure hunt and plate-based ball-transfer relays.

Ultimately, the HCTM TASKA Sports Day 2026 was more than just fun and games, it provided a meaningful experience that helps shape active, confident and courageous children who value friendship and teamwork.
