The Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), through its 5S Committee, successfully organised the HCTM ‘Gotong-Royong Perdana’ Program 2025 on 15 October 2025, held at the Multipurpose Hall, HCTM. The event began with welcoming remarks by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM.
As a symbolic gesture to officiate the event, the handing over of cleaning equipment was carried out by YBrs. Tuan Haji Zanudin Mohd Daud, UKM Registrar, to YBrs. Encik Muhamad Khairi Khalis, Chairman of the HCTM 5S Committee. This symbolic handover not only marked the official launch of the programme but also reflected the strong commitment of HCTM’s leadership to cleanliness, operational efficiency, and a sustainable hospital environment.
The main objective of the programme was to beautify and clean the departments, units, and centres within HCTM. More than just a physical clean-up, the initiative underscores HCTM’s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in line with the global sustainable development agenda towards 2030. It also aligns with the implementation of MSQH Quality Standards and the 5S/QE practices, which emphasise a safe, organised, and competitive working environment.
The programme successfully fostered a spirit of unity and cooperation among HCTM staff, proving that a clean and systematic work culture can be achieved through the active involvement of all levels of personnel. As a leading healthcare institution, HCTM continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to the SDGs through various internal initiatives, including the provision of a healthy environment, sustainable resource management, and continuous improvement in healthcare service quality.
