The Aidilfitri Feast Presentation Ceremony was held on 1 Syawal 1447H at the Main Lobby of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM). The ceremony was conducted on a modest scale to celebrate and appreciate the contributions of HCTM staff on duty, who dedicated themselves to serving the local community on Hari Raya.

A total of 640 food packs featuring various menus and 65 festive hampers were distributed to the duty staff, which included the Clinical, Clinical Support, and Administration Departments, as well as parts of the Kuala Lumpur Campus. The presentation of these contributions was delivered by YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Jamari Sapuan, Deputy Director (Surgical Services), representing the Director of HCTM.

Rendang Cooking Program with the Management of HCTM

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), through its Corporate Communication Department, organised the “Rendang Cooking Program with HCTM Management” on 16 March 2026 at the Gallery Space, Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, HCTM. As early as 9:00 a.m., volunteers comprising hospital staff began gathering to prepare a special dish in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. Various rendang preparation activities were carried out collaboratively, including cutting the meat, slicing onions, cooking the rendang in turns, and packing the food. The relaxed yet cooperative atmosphere clearly reflected the spirit of teamwork among HCTM staff, while also strengthening the bond between the management and hospital personnel. A total of 700 packs of beef rendang were successfully prepared for distribution to hospital staff. Starting from 3:00 p.m., the distribution area began to flood with staff who came to collect their rendang packs. Among the HCTM management present to make this programme a success were YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM; YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Jamari Sapuan, Deputy Director (Surgical Services); YBrs. Dr. Zairul Azwan Mohd Azman, Deputy Director (Medical Services); YBhg. Professor Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services); YBrs. Mr. Mursidi Ahamad, Deputy Director (Administration); YBrs. Mdm. Suraya Abdul Hamid, Head of Finance Department; and YBrs. Mdm. Masrifah Zakaria, Head of Nursing Services Department.

 

Bingkisan Kasih Aidilfitri HCTM Programme

The Bingkisan Kasih Aidilfitri HCTM Programme 2026, organised by Director Office, was held on 16 March 2026. The programme aimed to reach out to patients in the wards as a gesture of care and compassion from HCTM in conjunction with the upcoming Syawal 1447H celebration.

A total of 120 care package hampers were presented by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, together with members of the HCTM Management team, to patients receiving treatment in the wards. The selected wards that received the hampers included the Orthopaedic Ward, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ward, Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, and Oncology Ward.

It is hoped that this contribution will bring joy and comfort to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital in anticipation of the Aidilfitri celebration.

Also present at the programme were Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak, Chairman of the Board of Visitors, members of the Board of Visitors, Heads of Departments under the portfolio of the Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services), as well as the programme secretariat.


HCTM and the National Archives of Malaysia Sign Agreement on Medical Records Disposal Schedule

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), through the Health Information Department, held the Signing Ceremony for the Mutual Agreement on the Medical Records Disposal Schedule between HCTM and the National Archives of Malaysia at Sukmaria, Clinical Block, HCTM, on 12 March 2026.

HCTM Director, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, described the ceremony as a significant milestone, marking HCTM’s official adoption of the Medical Records Disposal Schedule endorsed by the National Archives of Malaysia. He stated that this recognition further strengthens the governance and management of medical records within the institution.

“Medical records are essential documents that capture patients’ treatment histories and serve as key references in ensuring continuity of care.

“Beyond that, these records are also crucial in fulfilling legal requirements, supporting research activities, and facilitating health statistics reporting,” he said in his speech during the ceremony.

He further emphasised that the management of the medical records lifecycle, from creation to disposal, must be carried out systematically while adhering to all applicable acts, policies, regulations, and procedures. This initiative is vital in ensuring that the security and confidentiality of patient information remain protected in accordance with the requirements of relevant stakeholders.

The ceremony was also attended by YBrs. Tuan Haji Zaidin Mohd Noor, Director General of the National Archives of Malaysia, directors from various divisions of the National Archives of Malaysia, HCTM Deputy Directors, Puan Hanuzah Omar, Head of the HCTM Health Information Department, as well as senior officers from both HCTM and the National Archives of Malaysia. The collaboration reflects HCTM’s ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare governance through effective, secure, and accountable medical records management practices.

 


Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Chinese New Year Celebration 2026

The Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Chinese New Year Celebration 2026 was held on 3 March 2026 at the Gallery ,Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, HCTM. The programme was organised to honour Chinese staff members in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration observed in February. A total of 44 staff members were recognised with commemorative gifts as a token of appreciation for their dedication, loyalty, and invaluable contributions in ensuring the continued excellence of healthcare services at HCTM. Although modest in scale, the celebration was both meaningful and memorable. The event was attended by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, together with members of the Management Committee, reflecting the spirit of unity, inclusiveness, and harmony among the hospital community.
