WORKING VISIT BY UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SARAWAK (UniMAS) REPRESENTATIVES TO PPUKM PRIMARY CARE CLINIC ON 30TH NOVEMBER 2016
Representatives of the Medical Faculty of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak visited the PPUKM Cheras Primary Care Clinic on the 30th November 2016. UniMAS was represented by Professor Dr Mohammad Zulkarnain bin Ahmad Rihan, Deputy, Dean for Development and Human Resources and Professor Dr Syed Alwi Syed Abdul Rahman, Head, Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine UniMAS.
The purpose of the working visit was to share experiences and information regarding a suitable floor plan for a primary care centre, suitable for the purpose of teaching and learning activities for primary care discipline whilst providing primary care services for the local community.
The guests went on a guided tour of the entire clinic covering both the Clinical Block and Tower Block. They were also briefed on the history of the evolution of primary care services at the UKM Medical faculty by the Head of Department, Associate Professor Dr Aznida Firzah Abdul Aziz, while briefing about the policies and clinic services was provided by the Clinical Coordinator Dr Ezura Md Madiana Monoto.
It is hoped that the sharing of experiences on design of the clinic floor plan and renovations involved will be a useful guide for the UniMAS team to plan the primary care centre at their university.
