Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Chinese New Year Celebration 2026

The Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Chinese New Year Celebration 2026 was held on 3 March 2026 at the Gallery ,Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, HCTM. The programme was organised to honour Chinese staff members in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration observed in February. A total of 44 staff members were recognised with commemorative gifts as a token of appreciation for their dedication, loyalty, and invaluable contributions in ensuring the continued excellence of healthcare services at HCTM. Although modest in scale, the celebration was both meaningful and memorable. The event was attended by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, together with members of the Management Committee, reflecting the spirit of unity, inclusiveness, and harmony among the hospital community.


HCTM Welcomes SIRIM QAS International for MS ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), today welcomed the SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. Audit Team to conduct the MS ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Surveillance Audit at HCTM. The three-day audit, which takes place from 25 to 27 February 2026, reflects hospitsl continuous commitment to ensuring that all services provided consistently meet established quality standards, in line with the organisation’s pursuit of excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction.

The opening ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Professor Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services), who represented Management, at the Board Meeting Room. This was followed by a briefing on the audit implementation delivered by the SIRIM Audit Team Leader, YBrs. Mr. Muhamad Faizudin bin Md. Lazim. Also present were Heads of Departments, senior officers, and staff members.

The audit serves as an important platform for HCTM to evaluate the effectiveness of its quality management practices while continuously enhancing service delivery standards towards achieving operational excellence and maintaining public confidence.


HCTM Shares Ramadan Blessings Through Date Distribution Programme

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), through the Corporate Communications Department, organised the Date Fruit Distribution Programme with HCTM Management on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at 12.45 p.m. at the Main Lobby, Clinical Block, HCTM.

A total of 1,000 packs of dates were distributed to staff and patients as part of the initiative to welcome the blessed month of Ramadan and strengthen the bonds of friendship and unity between Management, staffs, and the public.

The programme was attended and supported by members of the HCTM Management Committee, namely YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM; YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Jamari Sapuan, Deputy Director (Surgical Services); YBrs. Dr. Zairul Azwan Azman, Deputy Director (Medical Services); YBhg. Professor Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services); YBrs. Mr. Mursidi Ahamad, Deputy Director (Administration); YBrs. Puan Wan Omi Wan Yussop, Head of Finance Department; and YBrs. Puan Masrifah Zakaria, Head of Nursing Services Department.

The initiative reflects HCTM’s continuous commitment to fostering a caring and compassionate environment while strengthening engagement between hospital management, staff, patients, and the wider community.

Director’s Address: HCTM’s Four Strategic Priorities for 2026

As HCTM embarks on 2026, the Director of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, outlined four strategic priorities to drive the hospital’s continued pursuit of excellence during his Director’s Address at the HCTM Staff Assembly No. 1/2026, held on 4 February 2026. The key priorities include accelerating digital transformation, strengthening sustainability practices in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reinforcing a culture of integrity, and expanding community engagement initiatives.

In his address, the Director encouraged all staff to move forward with a shared sense of purpose and a clear strategic direction. He emphasised the importance of leveraging digital platforms such as myHCTM and ePesakit@HCTM to enhance service efficiency while embedding sustainable practices and upholding integrity in every aspect of decision-making and service delivery. Together, these four priorities will serve as the foundation for HCTM’s efforts to realise its vision and mission of delivering sustainable, ethical, and high-impact healthcare services to the community.

The Director also expressed his sincere appreciation to all staff for their unwavering dedication and commitment, which have been instrumental in the hospital’s achievements. The assembly also featured several significant highlights, including the launch of ‘Bila ST Bersuara’ Podcast Season 2, the symbolic handover of the Bereavement Room key, the presentation of the UKM Bitara Utama Award certificates, departmental appreciation awards, the launch of the Mortality and Morbidity Book, and the prize presentation ceremony for the HCTM Slogan Creation Competition. With the continued support, commitment, and collaboration of its workforce, HCTM is well positioned to advance further and remain a healthcare institution that inspires pride and confidence among the communities it serves.

Sunathon 2025 Programme

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), organised the 21st Sunathon Programme on 20 December 2025 (Saturday) at the Main Lobby of the Clinical Block, HCTM. The programme involved a total of 49 children comprising the children of staff from HCTM, Faculty of Medicine (FPER), Hospital Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani, the Specialist Children’s Hospital (Hospital TABTAR), as well as children from Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia. The circus-themed programme was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM.

Initiated in 2003, the programme has continued to this day as a meaningful community service tradition. Similar programmes have also been carried out in collaboration with various parties, including government agencies and the local community. Among the strategic partners involved were the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), as well as several healthcare institutions and non-governmental organisations. In this regard, the HCTM management also expressed its appreciation to RMHC Malaysia for its continuous support of HCTM-organised programmes, which not only ensured the smooth running of the event but also brought joy to the children involved. Among the HCTM responsibility centres involved in making this programme a success were the Director’s Office, Finance Department, Surgery Department, Nursing Services Department, Corporate Communications Department, Multimedia and Broadcasting Department, Medical Assistant Services Unit (U4P), Kuala Lumpur Campus Infrastructure Division (KKL), and the KKL Security Division.

The programme was also attended by YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Azlan Helmy Abd Samat, Assistant Dean (Entrepreneurship) representing the Dean of FPER, YBhg. The Integrity Day Celebration of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM)

The Integrity Day Celebration of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was held on 10 December 2025 (Wednesday) at 9.00 a.m. at the HCTM Auditorium. This programme marked the first time such an event had been organised by HCTM.

Integrity Day is observed annually on 5 November, while Anti-Corruption Day falls on 5 December. The organisation of this programme was one of the initiatives to enhance awareness of integrity and anti-corruption among the HCTM community. Activities conducted included the Malaysian Integrity Pledge, an Integrity Talk titled “Di Sana Menanti Di Sini Menunggu” delivered by Dr. Mohamad Shamsinor Abdul Azzis, Senior Lecturer at the University of Malaya and invited speaker, a Quiz Competition, as well as a Pantun Composition Competition held in conjunction with the celebration.

In his speech, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, emphasised that integrity can be defined as doing the right thing even when no one is watching. He also stressed that integrity requires the courage to speak the truth despite challenges, accountability for every decision made, and a commitment to improving work processes for the common good.

Taska Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Graduation Ceremony 2025

Taman Asuhan Kanak-Kanak (TASKA) of Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), celebrated 24 children who received certificates of appreciation at the TASKA Graduation Ceremony for the 2025 Session on 3 December 2025 (Wednesday). The ceremony was held at the Auditorium, Advanced Surgical Skills Centre (ASSC), HCTM.

The welcoming address was delivered by YBrs. Mrs. Rohaya Ismail, Head of the Integrated Facilities Management Department and Chairperson of the TASKA Management Committee, while the ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM. In his speech, the Director of HCTM expressed his hope that the graduation ceremony would instil renewed motivation among the young graduates, in addition to serving as a symbol of support and appreciation for them. He also advised parents to continuously monitor their children who frequently play with digital devices, as excessive gadget use may have negative impacts on them.

The ceremony was enlivened by several special performances by the TASKA children before the presentation of graduation certificates by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM. Also present to grace the event were YBrs. Encik Mursidi Ahamad, Deputy Director (Administration), heads of departments, parents, and members of the HCTM community.

Closing Ceremony of the Healthy Community, Prosperous Living Programme 3.0 – “Mission Possible: Shape Up!”

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), through the Dietetics and Food Services Department, organised the Closing Ceremony of the Healthy Community, Prosperous Living Programme 3.0 – “Mission Possible: Shape Up!” on 26 November 2025 (Wednesday) at the Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia, Kampus Ilmu Khas (IPG KIK), Cheras. This programme was part of a series of community health initiatives that began with the first programme on 18 June 2025, followed by the second on 20 August 2025, and concluded on 26 November 2025. A total of 50 participants, comprising students and staff of IPG KIK—most of whom were from the B40 group—took part in making this programme a success.

The main objective of the programme was to serve as a catalyst for the formation of a community that is physically healthy, mentally sharp, and emotionally well, in line with the nation’s aspiration towards a healthy and productive civil society. It also aimed to empower the community to be more aware of their personal health and to adopt and sustain healthy lifestyles.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by a speech from YBrs. Encik Mursidi Ahamad, Deputy Director (Administration), representing the HCTM Management. In his address, he expressed his appreciation to YBrs. Dr. Faridah Yakob, Director of IPG KIK, for the cooperation extended in ensuring the success of the programme. Congratulations were also conveyed to Ms. Nurul Liza Mohammad, Head of the Dietetics and Food Services Department; Mr. Abdul Rahman Abd Kadir, Chairman of the Programme Committee; and the organising committee for their support, commitment, and tireless efforts in implementing this initiative successfully.
