MIASA`s Visit to Community Psychiatry and Psychosocial Intervention Unit (UPKIP), Psychiatry Department
On 22 January 2019, the Mental Illness Awareness and Support Association (MIASA) with Royal Highness Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan visited UPKIP to inspire psychiatric patients as well as celebrating the Chinese New Year which will be celebrated on 5 & 6 February 2019. The visit was well received by the Director of Chancellor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital, Prof. Dato` Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid and Head of Psychiatric Department, Prof. Dr. Marhani Midin. This visit is filled with speech from Prof. Dato` Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid, speech from Prof. Dr. Marhani Midin, a speech from MIASA chairman Puan Anita Abu Bakar, a presentation of patients, lucky draws, special performances from invited artists, Naim Daniel to entertain the attendees who attended the tour. Prof. Dr. Marhani Midin said such visits could open the eyes of the community on mental health and the importance of support from renowned and important persons to psychiatric patients to promote the importance of mental health to Malaysians.
