Rendang Cooking Program with the Management of HCTM

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), through its Corporate Communication Department, organised the “Rendang Cooking Program with HCTM Management” on 16 March 2026 at the Gallery Space, Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, HCTM. As early as 9:00 a.m., volunteers comprising hospital staff began gathering to prepare a special dish in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. Various rendang preparation activities were carried out collaboratively, including cutting the meat, slicing onions, cooking the rendang in turns, and packing the food. The relaxed yet cooperative atmosphere clearly reflected the spirit of teamwork among HCTM staff, while also strengthening the bond between the management and hospital personnel. A total of 700 packs of beef rendang were successfully prepared for distribution to hospital staff. Starting from 3:00 p.m., the distribution area began to flood with staff who came to collect their rendang packs. Among the HCTM management present to make this programme a success were YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM; YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Jamari Sapuan, Deputy Director (Surgical Services); YBrs. Dr. Zairul Azwan Mohd Azman, Deputy Director (Medical Services); YBhg. Professor Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services); YBrs. Mr. Mursidi Ahamad, Deputy Director (Administration); YBrs. Mdm. Suraya Abdul Hamid, Head of Finance Department; and YBrs. Mdm. Masrifah Zakaria, Head of Nursing Services Department.

 

Bingkisan Kasih Aidilfitri HCTM Programme

The Bingkisan Kasih Aidilfitri HCTM Programme 2026, organised by Director Office, was held on 16 March 2026. The programme aimed to reach out to patients in the wards as a gesture of care and compassion from HCTM in conjunction with the upcoming Syawal 1447H celebration.

A total of 120 care package hampers were presented by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, together with members of the HCTM Management team, to patients receiving treatment in the wards. The selected wards that received the hampers included the Orthopaedic Ward, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Ward, Medical Ward, Surgical Ward, and Oncology Ward.

It is hoped that this contribution will bring joy and comfort to patients undergoing treatment at the hospital in anticipation of the Aidilfitri celebration.

Also present at the programme were Prof. Emeritus Dr. Mohamad Abd Razak, Chairman of the Board of Visitors, members of the Board of Visitors, Heads of Departments under the portfolio of the Deputy Director (Diagnostic, Pharmacy and Support Services), as well as the programme secretariat.


Majlis Menandatangani Persetujuan Bersama Jadual Pelupusan Rekod Perubatan antara HCTM dan Arkib Negara Malaysia

Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) melalui Jabatan Maklumat Kesihatan telah mengadakan Majlis Menandatangani Persetujuan Bersama Jadual Pelupusan Rekod Perubatan antara HCTM dan Arkib Negara Malaysia di Sukmaria, Blok Klinikal HCTM pada 12 Mac 2026.
Pengarah HCTM, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin berkata, majlis berkenaan merupakan detik penting apabila HCTM secara rasminya memiliki Jadual Pelupusan Rekod Perubatan yang diperakukan oleh Arkib Negara Malaysia. Menurut beliau, pengiktirafan tersebut sekali gus memperkukuh tadbir urus pengurusan rekod di institusi berkenaan.
“Rekod perubatan merupakan dokumen penting yang merekodkan sejarah rawatan pesakit dan menjadi sumber rujukan utama bagi memastikan kesinambungan rawatan.
“Selain itu, rekod ini juga penting bagi memenuhi keperluan perundangan, menyokong aktiviti penyelidikan serta pelaporan statistik kesihatan,” katanya dalam ucapan pada majlis tersebut. Beliau turut menegaskan bahawa pengurusan kitar hayat rekod perubatan, bermula daripada pewujudan sehingga pelupusan, perlu dilaksanakan secara terancang dan mematuhi akta, polisi, peraturan serta prosedur yang berkuat kuasa.
Langkah itu penting bagi memastikan keselamatan serta kerahsiaan maklumat pesakit sentiasa terpelihara selaras dengan keperluan pihak berkepentingan. Majlis tersebut turut dihadiri Ketua Pengarah Arkib Negara Malaysia, YBrs. Tuan Haji Zaidin Mohd Noor, para pengarah bahagian Arkib Negara Malaysia; timbalan-timbalan pengarah HCTM; Ketua Jabatan Maklumat Kesihatan HCTM, Puan Hanuzah Omar, serta pegawai kanan daripada HCTM dan Arkib Negara Malaysia.

 


Opening Ceremony of the Seminar on Empowering the Profession of Medical Assistant Officers (PPP), Series 2/2026

The Opening Ceremony of the Seminar Empowerment Profession of Medical Assistants (PPP), Series 2 /2026, was held on 8 January 2026 at the Auditorium, Komplek Pendidikan Perubatan Canselor Tuanku Ja’afar, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM).

The seminar, themed “Upholding the Profession of Medical Assistants in the Era of Digitalisation and Globalisation,” was organised by the Medical Assistant Services Unit of HCTM (U4P). It aimed to serve as a platform to discuss the career direction of Medical Assistants (PPP), as well as a medium for conveying the roles of the National Union of Medical Assistants of Peninsular Malaysia, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya, and the Medical Assistants Association, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur & Putrajaya Branch.

The ceremony was officiated by YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Jamari Sapuan, Deputy Director (Surgical Services), representing the Director of HCTM. In his opening address, Associate Professor Dr. Jamari stated that Medical Assistants (PPP) are an important asset in the national healthcare delivery system. He noted that PPPs play a significant role in ensuring continuity of care, patient safety, and the effectiveness of clinical services. He also emphasised that the empowerment of the PPP profession should be viewed holistically, not only in terms of clinical duties, but also encompassing the development of professional competencies, leadership, integrity, digital literacy, and clear and progressive career pathways.

Mr. Fazuddin Zakaria, Head of the Empowerment Seminar Programme for the Medical Assistant Profession, Series 2 of 2026; and seminar participants.
