PRE -REGISTRATION

Opening Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 8.00 am -12.30 pm and 2.00 pm -4.30 pm
Friday, 8.00 am -12.00 pm and 2.45 pm – 4.30pm
Closed on Saturdays and Sundays as well as public holidays
The service counter will not accept walk-ins unless it is an emergency. All pregnant mothers and gynae patients are encouraged to pre -register. The patient will be given the date for next appointment. Upon presenting yourself kindly bring along:
1. Referral letter from any clinic or hospital.
2. Identity card/passport/MY CARD
3. Payment for registration fee of RM50
4. Company/employer panel letter
5. Pregnant mothers are encouraged to pre -register when their pregnancy has exceeded 10 weeks.

EMERGENCY OGAC/ PAC UNIT
In general admissions to the ward for pregnant mothers and gynae patients begin at OGAC located on the ground floor to the righthand side after the first guard post. The location of this unit has facility for vehicles to drop off patients. Entrance to the ward is by providing a letter of admission from the O&G Clinic, a referral letter from Emergency Department or patient is already having signs of delivery.

Customers are required to bring along some documents if they need to receive treatment at OGAC:
- Appointment Book
- Visit report book if you are pregnant (red book/content history book)
- Referral letter if being referred by a doctor at another clinic
- Deposit money
- Panel/employer letter
In this unit the triage system is used for all patients present. The patient will be screened at the nurse’s counter and will be seen by the doctor on duty an hour later. The OGBC/PAC Emergency Unit only houses one doctor at a time. Patients who are in critical condition and need immediate attention will be given priority.
Preparation upon admission to the ward for pregnant mothers:
- Visit report book throughout the pregnancy
- Medication taken during the pregnancy
- Items for daily use (Toiletries)
- Some food, hot water bottle and containers for eating and drinking
- Anti-slip slippers
- Baby bag – baby hats and mittens
- 4 pairs of clothing
- Disposable diapers
- Blanket
- Baby toiletries
- Wipes
Prohibited /Not allowed to bring powdered milk and milk bottle
Patient’s clothing is provided for.
For non-pregnant patients you are also reminded to bring along the same items as mentioned above except for items for baby usage

- 4 wards in the O&G Department are open wards for all Antepartum, Postpartum and gynecological cases.
- Ward 1C is for O&G Oncology patients and HDU Intensive Unit are for clients who require full observation and intensive care.
- Specialist doctor visits will commence as early as 7.45 am at all ward location
- At O&G wards, beneficiaries are not allowed to wait unless the patient is too critical and unable to manage on their own.
- Children under 12 years old are allowed only during public holidays and weekends.
WARD DISCHARGE
Customers who have given birth can return home only after 24 hours of the delivery provided:
- Baby and mother do not have complication after birth.
- Baby has been thoroughly examined
- Baby has urinated and pass motion
- The mother is healthy and is able to confidently care for herself and the baby
- The baby is healthy and can be breastfed
- Ensure baby has obtained his/her blood test results such as BCG and TSH
- OAE test (ear screening test) has been performed.
- The first immunisation of BCG, HEP B and Vit K has been given to the infant
Patient discharge time occur twice; either in the morning before 12 noon or in the evening before 7.00 pm.
SUPPORT SERVICES:
Assisting the mother in going through the process after child birth or complication arising during pregnancy/disease process. Services offered are to allow Doctors to provide effective communication to patients. The available support groups are:
