World Nurses Day Celebration
Cheras, 17 February 2022 – World Nurses Day Celebration organized by the Department of Nursing Services was held at the HCTM Auditorium this afternoon. This year’s theme is ‘Nurses: A Voice To Lead – Invest In Nursing And Respect Rights To Secure Global Health’, the profession is the lifeblood and backbone of any health institution. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Prof. Dato ‘Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid, Pro Vice Chancellor of Kuala Lumpur UKM Campus.
Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Dato ‘Dr. Hanafiah conveyed million thanks to all nurses who sacrificed their time and energy to save the lives of patients during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the success of the National Covid-19 Immunization program and the MOHE KRIS Program. Today’s World Nurses Day celebration involved external invitations in the forum session, namely representatives from Cuepacs, the Public Service Department and representatives from the Malaysian Nurses Union in discussing the welfare, direction and challenges of nursing careers now and in the future.
Earlier, the Graceful & Excellent Nurses Seminar was held on the same day with several guest speakers such as Prof. Prof. Dr. Rohani Arshad, Prof. Adjunct of MAHSA University, Prof. Madya Sr. Dr. Norngainy Mohd Tawil, University Lecturer & Creativity Coordinator of UKM Department of Architecture and Built Environment, Puan Norasyikin Binti Johan, Dietetic Officer of the Department of Dietetic Services and Catering, and Puan Sabariah Shariff, Mary Kay Executive on sharing of information and experiences to those present.
