Opening Ceremony of Patient Safety Week

The Opening Ceremony of Patient Safety Week at Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was held on 18 September 2025 (Thursday), at the Gallery of the Chancellor Tuanku Ja’afar Medical Education Complex, HCTM. The event was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM.

This year’s Patient Safety Week carries the theme “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”, highlighting the critical importance of active roles in ensuring the safety and quality of care for children. HCTM remains steadfast in its commitment to patient safety and quality by enhancing incident reporting systems, conducting regular clinical audits, and implementing relevant training and simulation exercises to ensure optimal preparedness.

This event is not merely an annual program but a strategic platform to renew commitments in improving systems, strengthening procedures, and enhancing communication between healthcare teams and patients to achieve excellence in healthcare.

Also in attendance were YBrs. Puan Wan Omi Wan Yussop, Head of the Finance Department; YBrs. Puan Masrifah Zakaria, Head of the Nursing Services Department; YBrs. Dr. Sharifah Azura Salleh, Head of the Infection Control Unit and Chairperson of the Organising Committee, Heads of Departments and members of the HCTM staff.
