Opening Ceremony of the Seminar on the Analysis of Acts: The Child Act 2001 & The Domestic Violence Act 1994
The Opening Ceremony of the Seminar on “Act: Children’s Act 2001 & Domestic Violence Act 1994,” organized by the Medical Social Work Department, Hospital Canselor Tuanku (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was held on 25 June 2025 (Wednesday) at Dewan Khalid Kadir, Level 3, Additional Block, HCTM, UKM. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM. This seminar aims to increase public awareness of social protection laws as well as provide knowledge in dealing with family and child issues. In his speech, the Director of HCTM expressed hope that the seminar would be fully utilized to safeguard the welfare of children and families. He is confident that this seminar serves as an effective platform to strengthen protection for children and victims of domestic violence.
The well-being of individuals and society is the foundation for building a harmonious and prosperous community and nation. Children and family institutions are the main pillars in shaping a prosperous society, supported by the important role of hospitals as referral centers for rapid and comprehensive crisis intervention through multidisciplinary collaboration. Motivational Talk In Conjunction With Labor Day Celebration 2025 – “Behind The Uniform, There Is A Resilient Heart”
A Motivational Talk in Conjunction with the 2025 Labor Day Celebration, organized by the Corporate Communications Department, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM) Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was held on 29 April 2025 (Tuesday) at the Auditorium, Kompleks Pendidikan Perubatan Canselor Tuanku Ja’afar, HCTM. The talk titled “Behind the Uniform, There is a Resilient Heart” was delivered by Da’i Ahmad Izzhar Ahmad Nazri.
The 2025 Labor Day Celebration, with the theme “Pekerja Kesuma Bangsa,” is a day of appreciation for all individuals who tirelessly dedicate their energy, time, and commitment to the progress and well-being of society. Director of HCTM, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, in his speech, expressed appreciation for the resilience, dedication, and team spirit demonstrated by UKM staff, especially those at HCTM, in facing the challenges of the current healthcare system. He also prayed that we may all be blessed with continued health, happiness, and success.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration Ceremony 2025/1446H Kuala Lumpur Campus (Cheras Zone)

The Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration Ceremony 2025/1446H Kuala Lumpur Campus (Cheras Zone) was held on 17 April 2025 (Thursday) at the Lobby of the Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani Hospital, UKM Children’s Specialist Hospital. This ceremony was organized by the Kuala Lumpur Campus (KKL) (Cheras Zone) in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine UKM, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Hospital Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani Hospital, UKM Children’s Specialist Hospital (HPKK), UKM Institute of Medical Molecular Biology (UMBI) and Kolej Tun Dr. Ismail (KTDI).
The welcoming speech was delivered by YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid, Pro Vice-Chancellor of KKL. The aim of this event was to foster brotherhood, enhance gratitude, and strengthen the bonds of friendship among KKL (Cheras Zone) members. The ceremony was enlivened with performances by KKL (Cheras Zone) staff and a dance by children from the HCTM nursery. Additionally, donations of ‘duit raya’ (Eid gift money) were presented to the children of the HCTM nursery as a token of remembrance and affection. A variety of delicious dishes synonymous with the Syawal celebration were served, such as lemang and rendang, rice cakes with peanut sauce, satay, Arabic rice set, bihun soup, roasted lamb, roasted chicken, and more.
The Aidilfitri event was attended by YBhg. Prof. Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Abd. Razak, Chairman of the UKM Board of Directors, YBhg. Prof. Dr. Abdul Halim Abdul Gafor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International Affairs) who performs the functions of UKM Vice-Chancellor, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM, YBhg. Prof. Datuk Dr. Ismail Sagap, Director of HPKK, YBhg. Prof. Datin Dr. Marina Mat Baki, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Azian Abdul Murad, Director of UMBI, Members of the University Board of Directors, University Top Management, Deputy Directors, Heads of Departments, Strategic Partners, Media Practitioners and UKM Staff.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri 1 Syawal 1446H Feast
The First Hari Raya of Aidilfitri 1 Syawal 1446H Feast (31 March 2025) was held at the Main Lobby, Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM). It was celebrated in a simple manner to celebrate and appreciate the contributions of HCTM staff who are on duty to serve the local community.
During the event, a total of 640 meal packs with various menus and 65 Raya hampers were distributed to the staff on duty, which included members from the Clinical Department, Clinical Support, Administration, and some from the Kuala Lumpur Campus. The contribution was presented by YBhg. Prof. Dr. Hamzaini Abdul Hamid, Deputy Director (Diagnostic Services, Pharmacy and Support), representing the Director of HCTM. He took the opportunity to give a short speech, engage in friendly interactions, and take photos with several staff members before the event concluded.
Closing Ceremony Of The Ihya’ Ramadan And Aidilfitri Charity Programme
The Closing Ceremony of the Ihya’ Ramadan and Aidilfitri Charity Programme 1446H / 2025M was held on 26 March 2025 (Wednesday) at the Multipurpose Hall 2, Additional Block, Kompleks Pendidikan Perubatan, Canselor Tuanku Ja’afar, HCTM, UKM. The closing speech was delivered by YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Azmi Baharudin, Director of HCTM.
The Ihya’ Ramadan programme was organized by the Department of Diagnostic Laboratory Services (JPMD) in collaboration with the UKM Staff Union (KESUKMA), the UKM Medical Laboratory Technologists Association, the Malaysia Brotherhood Adventure Club (UKM BIKERS), the Malaysian Nurses Association UKM Branch, and the Sports and Welfare Club of the HCTM Information Technology Department. A total of nine (9) programs were successfully conducted throughout the month of Ramadan. The main purpose of this program is to reach out to the underprivileged groups among the asnaf, including the elderly, converts, orphans, and staff, while also indirectly helping to alleviate the burden during the celebration of Ramadan and the upcoming Syawal.
In his speech, the Director of HCTM expressed hope that such efforts could be continued and become a common practice among the UKM/HCTM workforce, serving as an example for future generations. He also extended his appreciation and gratitude to all members involved, who were the backbone of the Association/Club in enlivening each Ihya’ Ramadan Program.
