Opening Ceremony of the Pink October 2025 Program

The Opening Ceremony of the Pink October 2025 Program at the Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HCTM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), was successfully organized by the Breast & Endocrine Unit, Department of Surgery, in collaboration with the Department of Radiology and the Department of Nursing Services, HCTM. The event took place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at the Main Lobby of HCTM. The ceremony was officiated by YBhg: Prof. Dato’ Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Kuala Lumpur Campus.

October is globally and nationally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This program was held to educate the public on the dangers of the disease and to emphasize the importance of early detection, which significantly increases the chances of recovery. As an academic healthcare institution, HCTM takes its role in care, treatment, and public health education seriously. The Pink October program not only aims to enhance public knowledge but also reflects the hospital’s ongoing commitment to championing women’s health and community well-being.

Among the distinguished guests who graced the event were YBrs. Puan Masrifah Zakaria, Head of the Department of Nursing Services, representing the HCTM Director; YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Ruslinda Mustafar, Deputy Dean (Network, Industry & Community Affairs), representing the Dean of the UKM Faculty of Medicine; YBrs. Associate Professor Dr. Shahrun Niza Abdullah Suhaimi, Head of the Department of Surgery, HCTM; and YBrs. Dr. Adi Syazni Muhammed, Director of the Pink October 2025 Program.
